Megan Dunbar, Pangaea's VP of Research and Programs, will be part of a panel at the American Public Health Association's annual meeting on November 9, 2010 entitled, "Gender Relations and HIV/AIDS Prevention: Critical Examination of ‘Empowerment’ Paradigms and Strategies--Where Are We Now and What Else Needs to Be Done".

Pangaea CEO Ben Plumley made a presentation on the future of global health architecture and governance at the University of California, San Francisco's Bay Area Global Health Summit, which was held on October 13th at UCSF's Mission Bay Campus.  Video of the panel presentation is available here.

Pangaea is a co-sponsor of the University of California, San Francisco Bay Area Global Health Summit, which will be held on October 13th at UCSF's Mission Bay Campus.  The summit, titled "Innovation and Action for the Next Decade," will bring together global health and development experts as they discuss new strategies to improve global health.

Pangaea CEO Ben Plumley will be participating in a panel on global health architecture and governance that includes Lisa Conte (Chief Executive Officer and Founder, Napo Pharmaceuticals), Cristian Baeza (Director, Health, Nutrition and Population, The World Bank), and Julio Frenk (Dean, Harvard School of Public Health).

World leaders, including U.S. President Barack Obama, will gather in New York from September 20-22 at the high-level UN summit meeting that aims to accelerate progress toward the UN’s Millennium Development Goals-- targets adopted at the UN Millennium Summit of 2000.  “It’s time for the heads of state who are gathering for this meeting to reiterate their commitment to sustainable global development,” said Pangaea CEO Ben Plumley.  “The global economic crisis cannot be an excuse for the wealthiest nations to go back on their promise to help those in need.”

Pangaea is a co-sponsor of "Accelerating Action on the MDGs: Delivering for Girls Women and Babies" – a Women Deliver event which is being held in advance of the United Nations General Assembly Special Session on the Millennium Development Goals ("MDGs), which will be taking place in New York during the week of September 20, 2010. 

Women Deliver, Pangaea and other partners, are bringing together UN member country delegates, NGOs,corporations, donors, UN agencies, youth leaders and media to discuss progress made on the Millennium Development Goals as well as concrete steps that need to be taken if we are to make real progress in making the MDGs a reality, and not just another international declaration.
